Welcome to Dr. Dylan Selterman's webpage.

Dreams, Relationships, Emotions, Attraction, and Morality (DREAM) Lab
I am currently a Senior Lecturer at the University of Maryland Psychology Department. As the name suggests, my research interests include: a) close relationships between parents/children, friends, and romantic partners, b) patterns of dreaming and how they influence subsequent behavior, c) how people experience emotions especially those that are related to relationships (e.g., jealousy, love), d) romantic attraction and sexual behavior, and e) morals, ethics, norms, and standards for interpersonal behavior. I am a social psychologist by training, with background in developmental and health psychology as well. I lead a mindfulness meditation group for students at the University of Maryland.

For my own take on the "commons dilemma" exercise that went viral, read this opinion piece in the Washington Post, this piece in The Conversation, and this piece in National Geographic. See other media coverage of my work on the Huffington Post, Jezebel, Nerve, BPS Digest, Canada.com, The Baltimore Sun, ABC News, USA Today, and Buzzfeed.
