Dr. Dylan Selterman is a scientist, researcher, educator, and writer.

Dreams, Relationships, Emotions, Attraction, and Morality (DREAM) Lab
I am currently a Senior Lecturer at the University of Maryland Department of Psychology. As the name suggests, my research interests include: (a) interpersonal dynamics between friends, romantic partners, and family members, (b) social interactions and romantic attraction, especially as they happen through technologies such as smartphone apps, and (c) morals and ethical standards for social behaviors. I am a social/personality psychologist by training, with background in developmental and health psychology as well. I teach courses on introductory psychology and the psychology of happiness. I also lead mindfulness meditation for students. My blog on Psychology Today is called The Resistance Hypothesis.

My TEDx talk is about what we can learn from our dreams. For my own takes on the "commons dilemma" exercise that went viral, read these opinion pieces in the Washington Post, The Conversation, National Geographic, and The Baltimore Sun. See other media coverage of my work on Vox, OprahMag, Huffington Post, Jezebel, Nerve, BPS Digest, Canada.com, The Baltimore Sun, ABC News, USA Today, Buzzfeed, and NBC.
